Do you collect fossils? Do you have a fossil or two at home that you’d love to have identified? You’re in luck!

Join us at the library as Joseph Koniecki, who has collected fossils for 54 years, shares his expertise on finding, cleaning, and preparing fossils for display. He will also bring specimens from his private collection.

Joseph’s credentials are impressive: he has traveled throughout most of the United States and Canada to collect fossils, published eight peer-reviewed articles in the Journal of Paleontology, and is affiliated with the University of Michigan’s Museum of Paleontology. Fossils from his personal collection are currently on display at the Smithsonian, the Royal Ontario Museum, the University of Michigan Museum of Natural History, and Brigham Young University.
